In what seems symbolic of the Canadian economy, iconic Canadian companies are falling along with the country's economy. Last week Barclay's downgraded Canada's "big 5" banks due to overexposure to the Canadian economy, of all things. Their stock prices have fallen fast since December and there's growing concern over their solvency, should the Canadian economy continue to weaken.
The largest company in Canada, Suncor energy, an oil producer, is of course in trouble due to $50 oil. Other large energy companies are in the same boat. For now they're all taking the losses in expectation lululemon outlet online this will all blow over, but many analysts and economists don't think it will blow over. What if it doesn't? The outcomes are too scary to contemplate for Canada, so denial is the order of the day in Canada.
Canadian media outlets covered these events with great fascination the first few months, then it carried on and lululemon outlet florida got a little too real, now they're all but silent. Fear has set in for those in the know, while ignorance remains the norm for most Canadians.
While the media may not be covering it any longer, some Vancouver blogs are, mine included. My Vancouver blog specializes in covering the stories the mainstream refuses to cover. I guess that's because I don't have corporate owners telling me what to write about, so I can tell it like it is, what a breath of fresh air.
